Spring, quilts, and a new brother.
This week for iheartfaces.com ‘s contest the theme is “a touch of whimsy.”
This one from last Sunday (I have been behind on blogging sessions!) seemed sweet and whimsical and childlike. I thought it fit the theme!

K + M, part 1
This has been a busy weekend so far! I got the chance to follow along with Holly again for a wedding yesterday. The weather was beautiful even if a bit humid. The bride and the groom and the grooms daughter were tear-worthy in their sweetness. Here are a few of them getting ready and the ceremony.
My baby is three!
I just have to share these from my time taking pictures with my son today. I did everything I tell people not to do. I made him say cheese. I dressed him in a shirt with a logo on it. I fed him food that got on his clothing. Forget about the redness and wiping his nose. I probably bickered a bit with my husband who was toting all the gear and doing all of the hard work.
But I love the results. And he is probably the hardest child for me to take pictures of because I’m his mom. He’s just not interested in the camera anymore.
Wedding Season!
I got to spend some time yesterday following Holly from Holly Birch Photography (http://hollybirchphotography.com/) as she photographed a wedding in Sadorus. The couple had their reception at the Union at the University of Illinois which was super fun for me since it was the same place that I had my own reception 6 years ago!
Many thanks to Holly for letting me tag along!
B. Lime mini sessions, Champaign family photography
Yesterday was a whirlwind of amazing families at the B. Lime mini sessions. Six families got a chance to have a twenty minute session in the fun downtown neighborhood. It was great meeting a few new faces and catching up with the new accomplishments of some children that have come in before. I have been a bit under the weather recently and this allergy season is really taking it’s toll, so I was lucky to be working with Stephanie who really knows her lighting!
After going through all of the photos, I keep on being drawn to the father-child photographs. Maybe it’s because father’s day is coming up, or maybe it’s because my own husband has been such a fantastic father this month taking care of me and our three year old. But either way, I wanted to share some Dad + Child love on the blog!
Welcome to Baby M! Mahomet Newborn Photography
I had the pleasure (really, it was really fun!) of spending the afternoon with the G family in Mahomet. It was a bit dreary outside with the weather, but baby M who was born less than two weeks ago was happy and content in the sunroom. He made the cutest faces while falling asleep and seems to be such a calm baby. Thanks so much for having me out to do the photographs, H!
And, of course, I can’t resist a vintage quilt!
Mother’s Day | iheartfaces
I can’t help but to go back to this photo from an old session when I read that www.iheartfaces.com is having a mother’s theme for their photo contest this week.
Mini Sessions at B. Lime!
I have been so lucky to get to meet many new cloth diapering families in town last month! I want to say ‘thanks’ and B. Lime is helping me out. B. Lime is sponsoring an event for six families to get a chance to have family portraits done without having to pay a session fee and they are going to give you a free print as well!
Galleries will be viewable for one week after the event so that any orders placed will be in by Father’s Day.
On May 21 there will be six time slots available: 3:00, 3:20, 3:40, 4:00, 4:20 and 4:40. In order to secure one of these times please stop by B. Lime and grab a slot! Let them know how many are in your group (up to four people), ages and any special needs. Because this is a promotional event, a model release must be signed for every member of your group. Please let me or B. Lime know if you have any questions!

The Great Cloth Diaper Change, tomorrow!
Tomorrow I will be at The Great Cloth Diaper Change which is an event where kids can become part of the Guinness Book of World Records. Across the country at 11:30CDT registered participants will have their cute cloth diapers changed and be part of the biggest simultaneous change. Kind of silly, yeah, but a lot of fun.
There will be a lot of free and fun activities for kids at the location at the old Pages for all Ages building in Champaign tomorrow morning. Doors open at 10am!
Here are a few from my model this morning helping me get set up!
